Air Conditioning - What you need to know

We believe in clear, upfront pricing for all our air conditioning services. Below is a breakdown of how our service works and what happens if faults or leaks are detected.

Service Cost & Repairs

  • The air conditioning service price covers standard servicing only—it does not include repairs or fixing leaks.
  • If you suspect a fault or leak, contact us before booking to discuss the issue. We offer competitive prices for all air con repairs.

What Happens If We Detect a Leak?

  • If a major leak is found, we abort the service without charge.
  • You can choose to proceed with a leak diagnosis (cost: half the service price – £30 or £75).
  • If you go ahead with the repair, we apply the remaining half of the service price to the repair cost.

Step-by-Step Service Process

1. Evacuating the System
  • We remove any old or contaminated gas.
  • A 30-minute vacuum cycle cleans the system.
  • We then hold a 4-minute vacuum test to check for major leaks.
2. Leak Detection & Re-Gassing
  • If the vacuum test is successful, we re-gas the system, and the service becomes chargeable.
  • If the air con still doesn’t work, a further diagnostic fee may apply, and we’ll call you for approval before proceeding.
3. Final Pressure & Leak Tests
  • Once re-gassed, we perform a pressure test to ensure the system runs correctly.
  • A UV inspection light is used to check for leaks:
    • If a leak is found, we evacuate the system and charge only half the service price (£30 or £75).
    • You will receive a no-obligation repair quote.
    • If you proceed with the repair, we apply the remaining half of the service price to it.

What If a Leak Appears Later?

  • Some slow or minor leaks may take time to show.
  • If a leak is suspected within 1 month of your first service, we will inspect it again free of charge.
  • A quote will be provided for any necessary repairs, but there is no obligation to proceed.

Repairs & Second Refill

  • If repairs are needed, we will provide a detailed quote.
  • Should a second evacuation and refill be needed after repairs, we won’t charge for a second service—only for the repair itself.

We know this sounds a bit complex, but we want to be 100% transparent about our process and pricing. In most cases, if no leaks or faults are found, the only charge will be for the air con service itself.
